ABOUT THE SUMMIT

The Slovak Green Building Council, the key ambassador of sustainable construction in Slovakia, and the Slovak Chamber of Architects, an organisation associating authorised architects and authorised landscape architects in Slovakia, are organising a conference GREEN BUILDING SUMMIT 2024.

The conference is a top event in the CE region and takes place under the auspices of the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová, the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Slovakia Johannes Wimmer, the Ambassador of Finland to the Czech Republic and Slovakia Pasi Tuominen and the Chairman of the Authority for Spatial Planning and Construction of the Slovak Republic Martin Hypký.

The purpose of the event entitled FUTURE IN CLOSED LOOP is to provide the audience with inspiration and case studies on sustainable solutions and transferable international experience how to build future-proof buildings and create a future in architecture and construction.

The program is structured to reflect circularity as a pathway to sustainable future and consists of two topical blocks with presentations and following discussion panel and networking. The target group includes professionals from the whole chain of sustainable building sector from architects and engineers, suppliers and manufacturers of technologies and materials to developers, investors, financial institutions, and academia.

SPEAKERS

Richard Teichmann – Vice Chair of Europe Regional Network, World Green Building Council

Richard is a board member of the Austrian Sustainable Building Council (ÖGNI). He founded Green Building Councils in a few CEE countries and worked within the ULI European Sustainable Development Council, as well. Since July 2023 he supports the European Regional Network of the World Green Building Council as Vice-chair. Richard is the CEO of Teichmann et Compagnons Property Networks active on CEE markets with companies in Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia delivering development services for commercial real estate projects of the partners or for third parties. All projects are developed with a strong focus on sustainability. In fall 2021 one of projects achieved the first EU taxonomy verification in Hungary.

Jakob Dunkl – Architect a Founder, querkraft architekten

Jakob is one of the founders and owners of querkraft architekten. Together with Peter Sapp and Gerd Erhartt, he has been searching for unconventional solutions to give people room to develop since 1998. Poetic pragmatism is the phrase that probably best describes the aspirations of the Viennese architecture firm. In addition to various teaching activities and speaker functions in the field of building culture, Jakob and his partners have received numerous prizes and awards, such as state prizes or the City of Vienna Prize for Architecture. The querkraft team of about 45 people works primarily in areas such as residential construction, cultural and educational buildings, office, and industrial buildings.

Kasper Fabritius – Sales and Marketing Manager, Senaatti

Kasper works for Senaatti, that is the work environment partner and specialist of the Finnish government and the Finnish Defence Administration. He is responsible for Senaati solution sales and development of the sales operations nationwide. Kasper has had various positions with responsibilities in the field of leasing, facility-services and consulting, operative management as well as business development since joining in 2006. Prior he was engaged in consulting, real estate development in Scandinavia as well as German speaking Europe. Kasper is an active player in the formation as well as the implementation of the government workplace strategy in recent years. He is a driver for real estate efficiency in the public sector and a strong advocate for multilocational working.

Vittorio Salvadori – Head of Project Acquisition, CREE

Vittorio studied architecture and earned his PhD in mass timber buildings from the Technical University of Vienna. His articles have been published at the World Conference of Timber Engineering and translated into several languages. Currently, as a Business Development Manager at CREE Buildings, he oversees partner business development activities as well as the acquisition of new projects. Vittorio is also actively involved in expanding the CREE network of architects and engineers, and regularly speaks at international events. Prior to joining CREE, he spent six years as an architect for Austrian architectural firms and won several international competitions.

Samppa Lappalainen – CEO and Partner, JKMM Architects

Samppa Lappalainen has been the CEO at JKMM Architects, one of the biggest and most successful architecture offices in Finland since 2018. He has a key role in bridging the various interests of developers and investors, yet ensuring the high quality of architecture and creation of meaningful urban areas. Sampa started his professional career in 2005 by establishing his own architect’s studio. Since then, he has worked as a designer in several fields of design from luxurious private homes and historical refurbishments to sustainable development and urban culture. He is known to the public in Finland for being the host in the awarded TV-show “Grand Designs Finland”.

Alfred Berger – Architect and Founder, Berger + Parkkinen Architekten

Alfred is one of the founders of Berger + Parkkinen Architekten, that he founded with Tiina Parkkinen in 1995. The studio had an immediate international success with award-winning projects. His first competition success was in 1990 with the Albert Schultz Ice Rink in Vienna after his studies at he Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Between 1994 and 1998, he worked as a university assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with professors Timo Penttilä and Massimiliano Fuksas. Later he served as a university lecturer at the Vienna University of Technology and Chairman of the Timo Penttilä Society since 2013. He is the chairman of the architectural advisory board of the Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft BIG and od the Quality Assurance Advisory Board Viola Park. Alfred has been involved in over 40 architectural competitions as an expert juror.

Milan Tomac – Architect and Partner, ENOTA Architects

Milan graduated from the Ljubljana Faculty of Architecture in 1998. In the same year he cofounded the architectural office ENOTA where he works as partner architect ever since. For his work in ENOTA he received many architectural awards, his work has been presented on numerous exhibitions and published in professional and broad interest publications all over the world. Milan lectures at architectural schools, conferences, and symposiums in Slovenia and abroad. From 1998 to 2001 he was Assistant Professor at Ljubljana Faculty of architecture. With intention to promote the importance of architectural quality, he has been active as the member of several architectural award and architectural competition juries and member of some other formal and informal networks and events on architecture.

Martin Stohl – Architect and ESG Manager, J&T Real Estate

Martin worked for 11 years as an architect in Canada, where he participated in several complex projects. In Slovakia he worked as an architect at HB Reavis and participated in the Forum BC project in Bratislava, which received the BREEAM Excellent certificate in 2013. He founded the department of sustainability and well-being at HB Reavis and participated in certifications for HB Reavis projects in V4 countries, in Germany and London. Martin is the co-author of the company's ESG strategy and standards. Now he is working as ESG Manager at J&T Real Estate, where is in charge of the ESG strategy and supervises certifications. Martin is an active member of the SKGBC Board of Directors and is the vice president of Manifest2020 initiative, which is a partner of the New European Bauhaus initiative in Slovakia. Martin is a member of the team that prepared the Presidential Green Seal project.

Milota Sidorová – Vice President for Spatial Planning, Authority for Spatial Planning and Construction of the Slovak Republic

Milota worked as Director of the Office of Participatory Planning at the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava until August 2022 . She co-hosted the show on urbanism and architecture “Live City FM” on Radio FM. She worked on the Green Foundation, WPS Prague and Punkt and Goethe-Institut Prague projects and co-founded the international urban planning festival reSITE. During her time at the Metropolitan Institute of Bratislava, she was the Vice-president of the Nomenclature Committee of Bratislava and jury member of various competitions. She actively participated in numerous workshops, lectures and seminars on urban planning. In 2019, she was nominated for the Personality of the Year in the field of architecture and construction.
